There is a word nestled sweetly in the prophecy of Amos 3:3, "Can two walk together except they be agreed?" The word agree is one of the most underestimated and overlooked words in all of scripture. To Jesus, it was imperial, to the prophet, it was intended, and to the church today, it is imperative. With it we can build a grow; without it we struggle and are are frustrated.
Nehemiah knew the power of agreement when he went to rebuild the wall at Jerusalem. He did not embark on the God-ordained adventure with th words "I will", rather, he chose to instrinsically motivate God's people with the words "Let Us".
Churches today would be enjoying much more success and less frustration by concentrating their efforts toward agreement. Segregation is an enemy to the cause of Christ. "Let Us" lay down our personal agendas and come to the place where we can agree and see God's kingdom advanced.
