Back To School Bash 2010 - Huge Success!!!

Place for Life’s Back to School Bash was a huge success!!!  Over 800 backpacks filled with school supplies were given away!!!!

On Saturday, August 7, 2010 Pastor Rick Hawkins & Place for Life, along with sponsors Longhorn Radio Live, Toni & Guy, The Paul Mitchell School, & Red McCombs Toyota, hosted the FREE event “Back to School Bash 2010.”

WHAT A HUGE SUCCESS!!!

We were able to supply over 500 children in the San Antonio community with backpacks, school supplies, hair cuts, food, and lots of entertainment.  We also supplied the San Antonio Children’s Shelter with 120 backpacks full of school supplies and 200 to Christ Worship Center in Laredo, TX.

Additionally, a blood drive was held by University Hospital where each donor received a free Whataburger coupon.

With special guests San Antonio Police Chief McManus, State Representative Joaquin Castro, City Council Man Justin Rodriguez, Rosie Alvarado, Erica Gonzaba and a special appearance by the Spurs Coyote, this event truly accomplished our goals:  to give the children of our community a day of fun and the opportunity to start the school year with all that they needed to have a great year.
