5 Benefits to Walking it Out in Relationships

My dad, Bishop Rick Hawkins, says that relationship is the currency of the Kingdom and the network of life. And that is so true. Relationships are what bring value and create positive exchange of resource, virtue, and life. I encourage you to be sensitive and use discernment in all of your relationships. Ask yourself the hard questions:

“Is this relationship bringing joy or promoting negativity?”

“Is this relationship encouraging me to go after my dreams or demeaning my aspirations?”

“Is this relationship reciprocating what I am giving to it?”

Here are 5 benefits of “walking it out” in relationships:

1. You don’t have to fight your battles alone. (1 Samuel 14:1-14)
2. You multiply in victory. (1 Samuel 14:1-14 & 2 Kings 2:1-13)
3. Covenant attracts (or breeds) covenant. (Ruth 1:11-18)
4. You experience and learn break through. (2 Kings 2:1-13)
5. You walk in authority. (2 Kings 2:1-13)

Love Week

It is time for people of God to lead the way, once again, in showing a World in need what true love really is. The judgmental, condemning attitudes and scrutiny need to come to a screeching halt and the warm embrace of mercy and love need to be the paramount characteristic among God’s people.

This week at Place for Life is Love Week. It begins with our Leading the Way session where Minister Sam Lopez will be teaching on “Love Leads the Way.” I will be preaching at 10:30 am this Sunday concerning God’s unfailing love.

Then join us for our Valentine’s Banquet with special guests, Pastor Adam & Michelle Bernal. This will be a great, fun-filled event at Place for Life. It’s free and a great opportunity to invite friends to God’s House.

2012: The Leap Year

I am going to take a “Leap of Faith” and speak over your life, that in the same way, there is an addition coming to your life that is going to place you back in sync with the promises and blessings that God has ordained for your purpose in the earth. Our entire existence revolves around the Son and He promised that we would have “...life and have it more abundantly.” In 2 Samuel 22:30 it says that it is by Him that we can “...run through a troop and…leap over a wall.”

In the past four years we have seen the people of God face some walls and come up against some troops. We have seen the economy crash, unprecedented natural disasters, church leadership crisis, and so much more. I prophesy that this is the year that God brings everything back to order and synchronization with His promises to us.

Get ready to put your faith into high gear. God is about to ADD to your life in 2012. Your best is yet to come and I cannot wait to see the great things God has in store!

The School of Excellence in Education Honors Bishop Rick Hawkins

On Sunday, January 8, 2012, Dr. Matthews (the superintendent of The School of Excellence in Education), along with some of the faculty of the school came to Place for Life to honor their founder for his sacrifice in launching the school and for his continued efforts in contributing to its success.

Bishop Hawkins, thank you for your outstanding leadership, dedicated service, and commitment to future generations.

God First in 2012

2012 presents a unique and prophetic opportunity for the people of God. The spiritual atmosphere in this nation is going to shift and the House of God and His people will find themselves at the point of emphasis once again. Men and women of God all over the nation are seeing and prophesying that this is going to be a year of favor, prosperity, and success for God’s people.

Like every promise God gives us, there is always an “if”. If we want to see the promise of God released in our church, in our families, and in our personal lives, we must re-prioritize and place God First in everything. I am calling for us, the people of Place for Life, to make this our mantra in 2012: “God First!” God First in our homes, God First on our jobs, God First with our money, God First in everything. I believe that if we do this collectively that God will bless our church abundantly. Likewise, if we do this individually, our lives and families will experience the blessing of God like never before!

I ask you to join with me in giving the month of January to the Lord. We will do this through the following efforts. First, by bringing our First Fruits offerings to the House of God. Secondly, by coming together on Sunday Night, January 8th for a special House Committal Service. Finally, by spending 12 days of prayer and consecration from Wednesday, January 11th through Sunday, January 22nd. There is no better way to start 2012 then at the House of God. The FIRST day of 2012 is a Sunday - AMAZING!! We have the opportunity to spend our first day of the year in God’s House!

God First in 2012 at Place for Life. I love all of you dearly and I know that something great is on the horizon for us and I cannot wait to hear all of the testimonies of the favor of God that will be active in each of our lives.

A Prophetic Glance at 2012

Twelve is the number of “the perfection of government.” In Isaiah chapter nine the bible speaks of the increase of His government. This will be a year of exercised government expressed and experienced in and through God’s people. The bell has rung, recess is over it is time to return to our ruling position.

In the month of January I am inviting all of you to join me on Wednesday nights as we look prophetically at the subject “The Government of God.” There are things that have governed areas in many lives that will cease and there are atmospheres that the people of God will begin to govern that have been chaotic. Twelve is one of the most significant numbers in all of scripture and by the end of January we will have a deep appreciation and anticipation for what this year will produce.

Immanuel: God With Us

It is the idea of “God with us” – Immanuel. The correct rendering of this Hebrew title would be on this wise – “with us is God.”

It is in this title that we discover His function as our ever “present protector and provider.” A baby born in Bethlehem is deity clothed with humanity. What a gift to us all.

The Gift

Christmas was God’s idea and it was his plan from the beginning of time. He found a vessel that captured his favor, named Mary, and the plot began to unfold. In the same way that she carried the destiny of God in her life, so do you. There is something in you that must come to pass if you are a child of God. Your gift is growing and your purpose has an appointment. The time will be accomplished and the world will see!

God had a set place, a set time, and a set person to bring Christ to us. He still does, He has you!

The Insight of Understanding

Understanding establishes a foundation of truth and it leads to “insight.”

To see is far more than to “look at the visible.” To hear is far more than to “listen to the audio.” Seeing and hearing in the biblical sense has to do with spiritual insight—it is to gain a sense of how God sees an event, and to begin to know what God wants a person to learn from the experience and to know how God wants a person to move forward in his or her life.

Maybe, we should stop asking, “What happened?” and start asking, “Why did I make it through?” This will give motion to what matters – “your purpose.”
