Love Week
Valentine’s Day is approaching and it’s always during this time of year that romance and love begin to fill the air. Love is a touchy subject in this generation. Of course, love for family, children, and parents are always consistent. However, loving relationships that last is becoming a commodity. True love, the kind that will hold on through any storm; the kind that will fight for you through thick and thin; the kind that will cover a multitude of sins; has become scarce.
2012: The Leap Year
2012 is what we call a Leap Year. We add a day to the year in order to stay in sync with the seasons. It takes longer than 365 days to orbit the sun, so we add a day every four years to “catch up.”
The School of Excellence in Education Honors Bishop Rick Hawkins
The Bible tells us to give honor to whom honor is due. About 15 years ago, with the assistance of Dr. Linda Britton, Bishop Rick Hawkins founded the School of Excellence in Education, a charter school in San Antonio, TX for at-risk students. Since it’s inception, The School of Excellence has grown from a single school to a school district with over 2,000 students. It is one of the largest charter schools in Texas.
