There is an instance fabricated strategically by the hand of God and perfectly placed in time that we refer to as Christmas. It is more than a mere a holiday, it is a God ordained event to teach us the manifold wisdom of God. It causes inspiration and it calls for insight. It demands the world’s attention and expects the Christian celebration. When God sets a thing in motion, there is neither a wall of opposition nor any wave of scrutiny that can slow it down.
The Insight of Understanding
Understanding refers to an ability to put things together—to arrange and unite facts so they make sense and yield insight. It is seeing how every event, experience and encounter in life relates to a far greater picture. When policemen analyze an accident scene, they take all sorts of measurements and ask detailed questions of eye-witnesses. They measure skid marks, look closely at angles and damage on vehicles, and check everything from road conditions to weather conditions. They then arrange and combine the facts to determine who did what, when, how, and at what speed. They have an understanding of the accident that is often far greater than any person who saw or was in the accident—especially since those who are in terrible accidents often have no recall of the impact itself or the moments preceding impact.
Let Thanksgiving Begin
The week of “Thanksgiving” begins today. It is Monday and it will be meaningful. My daughters Kendra (who came in Saturday) and Crystal will join me as we invade HEB with the intent of getting everything for Thursday. Inevitably we will forget something but it is a good start.
The Destination is There
The Designer of your life—your Creator, Almighty God—did not make a mistake in His design of you. He made you with a plan and purpose. He built into you specific traits, abilities, desires, and talents to accomplish His plan. He gave you a personality and physical traits to enhance the purpose intended for you. And, He placed you in an environment that was specifically chosen for you. You were a custom design from conception. Never lose sight of that.
